Transitions

For this piece, I've chosen to illustrate three flowers, each symbolising a different state i've called home. At the top, a dogwood flower represents Virginia; in the middle, an apple for Michigan; and at the bottom, a peony for Indiana. The overarching theme of this print is "transitions", emphasizing that changes can be seen as opportunities for growth. I also wanted to document the process of traditional silk screen printing by photographing each individual layer of the piece; in total there is 9 layers and 8 colors, using two different printing techniques on fabric.
