Loving From A Far
Taylor Riley is a photographer from Mechanicsville, Virginia and is currently living in Fairfax, Virginia. She is currently a BFA student in Photography at George Mason University School of Art and will graduate in the spring of 2023. Since going to university Riley has further developed her editing skills by working with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom as well as trying new and different things within photography, trying different subjects, lighting techniques and editing techniques as well. She found her passion for photography by accident when a family friend told her that she had an eye for photography and should look into making it into a career. In high school she took a darkroom class and then got into digital photography and never looked back. Riley works with her EOS Rebel T6 Canon camera, uses a tripod when needed and is proficient in Adobe software’s. The work that inspires her the most, is when she’s researching ideas of what kinds of photographs she can take for a specific photoshoot and then when she’s editing, she puts her own twist to the photo. She likes to find a unique way of doing things whether it’s while working in the camera or when editing photographs in post-production. Riley has recently been drawn to photographs of her friends, family, and anyone else who wants photos taken. She has done a gender reveal party, an engagement announcement, and some snowy animal portraits and is currently taking family. She is mainly interested in shooting nature, animals, and portraits. Riley is getting more and more experience the more she takes photographs for people as well as putting herself out there and getting referenced by friends and others who she has photographed for. Riley likes to try new things and experiment with different kinds of photography to broaden the styles of photos she can take. Riley is interested in learning new things with photography as well as trying new things when it comes to photography.
