Gradual Dulling - Reminiscing the Past

'Gradual Dulling' is a short looping animation that explores the inner thoughts and emotions of growing up, and how the world changes around us over time. The animation piece is divided into segments representing childhood, teenage/young adult, and adulthood, ending with the individuals passing. Each loop includes fading text that reflects on the idea that nothing stays the same or lasts forever.
The project is rooted to personal experience, so some of the text may not be accurate. But it's meant to be simple to understand and relatable - especially for the young and older adults who find themselves reflecting on the past. It captures those quiet moments of pause - when we stare off, lost in thought, remembering the earlier stages of life.
Each stage is represented visually and emotionally: a childhood is colorful and energetic, whilst teenage/young adult years bring nostalgia and uncertainty. Adulthood reflects acceptance and moving forward, with the final segment being a still image - symbolizing and suggesting the passing of a person whom lived their life to the fullest.
