Jashn-e-Bahaaraa
Medium: Acrylic, ink, and henna on canvas
"Jashn-e-Bahaaraa" is inspired by childhood dreams and the timeless tale of Emperor Akbar and Queen Jodha Bai, passed down through the fictional stories, bringing history to life in a way no textbook ever could. The tale of Jodha and Akbar began as a political alliance that slowly turned into a relationship built on respect, trust, and love. This painting reflects the moment when love triumphed over pride, like spring unfolding in a royal courtyard. It draws heavily from Mughal architecture and South Asian cultural motifs, capturing the spirit of an era that felt magical to us as children. It’s a tribute to the magic that made the past feel alive, and to the fairytale whispers that filled our childhood with wonder, imagination, and awe.
