Heroes of Heroes: Chances is a monochromatic manga/comic that revolves around the character, Danny Dupel, an unhoused young adult that believes it’s imperative to help others in a world that generally despises him. Danny begins to embark on an adventure that leads him to rescue a pessimistic teenage girl, Gia Kagaya.
I wanted to create a series that revolves around the value of a hero, but not a traditional one that wears a cape or hides his identity, but one that is labeled with a negative social construct that holds a lingering stereotype, such as an unhoused individual. I challenge that narrative with a story that engages the unhoused individual to help others when in need despite his social status, revealing the theme that you can’t define others from their appearance or situation, but rather their character.
