Starting from the center, the yellow lotus is associated with joy, but only half of the lotus is alive. The other half represents death. The living part of the lotus, the joy, is within the dark side, and the dead half of the lotus is within the light side. Showing there will always be some light in the darkness and some darkness in the light. The koi fish, the branches and vines represent Ying and Yang. The balanced opposites, light and dark, passive and active, feminine and masculine, creating harmony throughout. Harmony and joy create peace and a light feeling within.
