Chronology, Deconstructed

Medium: Woven Collage Installation with Risograph Printed Illustrations

Inspired by the interconnection between decay and rebirth, I created a series of illustrations, printed them with a retro printer called a Risograph, and deconstructed the images to weave them into new forms. The resulting woven collage reflects the fabric of time in its fluidity, repetition, and turbulence. Recurring imagery from the prints, depicting various stages of life and death, are hidden, distorted, and revealed in different areas of the collage to create a flowing, rhythmic form.

In Chronology, Deconstructed, illustration is not the end product, but instead becomes the palette with which this piece is created. Illustration, printmaking, and fiber arts are blended together, pushing the boundaries of each medium into a rich, layered process that parallels the enmeshed nature of time.
