A Semester's Worth

Medium: Collage on Wooden panel

A Semester’s Worth is a collage piece made up of various things that were collected during my last two college semesters. Using assignments, shopping bags, stores, magazines, flyers from different restaurants, and general junk from all around town and the city. The junk from each semester was used to create a picturesque landscape of said season, inviting you to see what the last two semesters were like for a rising senior through the junk that she collected.

With this piece, I wanted to try a new medium I haven’t tried before, and I wanted to challenge myself to create something I have never done before.

I also wanted to create something to look back on after leaving college that was more than just my diploma, I thought that an artwork would be able to encapsulate my time here at George Mason.
