Love, Rewritten

Medium: Editorial Design & Photography

Love, Rewritten is a conceptual editorial and photographic project that examines how love is understood through early conditioning, performed through external validation, and redefined through conscious choice. Structured across three stages—Inheritance, Performance, and Reconstruction—the project traces a shift from imposed identity to self-defined understanding. Drawing from cultural expectations surrounding femininity, desirability, and emotional labor, the work situates personal experience within broader social patterns. The project is shaped by an ongoing cycle of seeking validation and confronting its limitations, ultimately leading to a decision to disengage from performative patterns. Rather than offering resolution, it emphasizes this moment of choice, inviting viewers to reflect on how their own definitions of love may be constructed, repeated, or reconsidered.
