Where Else

Medium: Mixed Media

“Where Else” is a personal, evolving sculpture rooted in memory, grief, and transformation. Built on a headless childhood statue I rediscovered in my family’s backyard—where it had stood since 2002—it felt like unearthing a stone version of my younger self. This figure, once forgotten, became a vessel for experimentation and emotional release. I embraced trial and error, using spray foam, graffiti, and vibrant colors to reflect both chaos and resilience. Clear glue tears and dark carved creases represent emotional depths, while bold tags and pop-inspired hues speak to healing and growth. A QR code on the piece invites viewers to scan and follow “where else I’m going,” a portal to the spaces and experiences that continue to shape my evolving practice.
