Mason’s School of Art presents its biannual Art and Design Senior Show: SHIFT, an exhibition showcasing the works and talents of graduating Mason seniors.

Why SHIFT?

SHIFT. A transformation, a movement, a reimagining. SHIFT embodies the power of change—altering perceptions, navigating mediums, and adapting to new ideas. It represents the evolution of creative thought, where tradition meets innovation, and creative practice transitions from static to dynamic, from the familiar to the unexpected. Mason’s School of Art presents its biannual Art and Design Senior Show: SHIFT, an exhibition showcasing the works and talents of graduating Mason seniors.

This exhibition explores SHIFT as a concept: the ever-changing terrain of contemporary art and design, the evolution of visual language and storytelling, and the role of artists and designers in shaping cultural, social, and technological discourse. It is a space where material experimentation meets conceptual inquiry, where aesthetics and ideas converge to reflect and challenge the world around us.

Most importantly, it marks a personal shift—the transition from student to professional—where curiosity becomes action, and creative visions begin to take flight.

The Exhibition

The exhibition is the culmination of three months of work on students’ capstone projects. It features explorations in animation, drawing, printmaking, photography, painting, sculpture, and graphic design from nearly 50 artists in their graduating senior semester for the Art and Visual Technology degree. We strongly encourage everyone to attend both shows!

Location

The exhibition opens Monday, April 28, and will run through Friday, May 9. Details below:
