Zhang Mahjong is a project inspired by my personal experience playing mahjong with my family and friends. This past winter I travelled to Taiwan with my family and got the opportunity to play mahjong with my cousins that live there. I was reminded how much I love playing mahjong with people I love but when I use the traditional set with my friends here they can’t read the chinese characters on the tiles. This set forth my mission to create a mahjong set that anyone can use, no numbers or letters, an entirely glyphic set of mahjong tiles.
