Lania is a story about two sisters who embark on a journey to the Cave of Dreams in search of a cure for their terminally ill father. This work was inspired by archaeological finds, the importance of history, and family ties. It explores environmental concepts from the room of a sick father, to a forgotten cave, to an unexplored and magical world that offers new wonders. Every environment is centered around the sisters’ relationship, contrasting collapsing structures with rebuilt ones, much like their breaking relationship that ends up healing again. The more you add, the more personal a design can look, which is what I strive for with my work.
The work is entirely digital, using Procreate for the environmental pieces and Procreate Dreams for the animation. With this piece, I want people to experience sisterhood in both its good and bad aspects. Every relationship is built on something, and that something is what matters most in this work.
