Growing up, I wasn’t familiar with my Cambodian culture due to my parents fearing that if I was raised too immersed in it, I’d have a hard time adapting to Western society. Having visited Cambodia and seeing the rich culture and history of my parent’s country, I realize there’s no better way to expose yourself to a culture than eating their food.
By making MOUM; it’ll not only expose people to Khmer cuisine, but also draw interest in the culture and background of Cambodia, helping Cambodians feel that their culture is seen and heard.
