And Then, Spring Again

Medium: 2D & 3D Motion graphic

This video follows the journey of a blue sphere, the main object, as it moves through all four seasons, beginning in spring and eventually returning to spring again. It reflects a cycle.

We often see spring and summer as bright and full of life, but when autumn arrives with falling leaves, bare branches, and a quiet, empty atmosphere, and when winter follows, we tend to think of these seasons as an ending or a time of hardship.

However, plants like barley and tulips need to go through a certain period of intense cold before they can bloom in the spring. Most plants pause their growth during winter and store nutrients in their roots, preparing themselves to grow new leaves and flowers when spring comes.

Thus, in this work, I have portrayed winter not as a negative stagnation, but as a silent preparation for a new beginning and an inevitable leap toward spring. The film concludes with the throwing of a boomerang, an object that naturally returns, much like the cycle of the seasons. As we transition from winter back to a new spring, I wanted to convey a message of hope: the season of trial is not eternal. The hardships we face now are merely a preparatory stage for a new beginning, and just like the cycle of nature, the "springtime" of our lives will surely return.
